About Rebecca Kendrick, MSW, LCSW

Reaching out for help is one of the hardest things that a person can do. Since positive therapeutic outcomes are most tied to the strength of the therapist/client relationship, Rebecca focuses on in-the-moment, open and transparent connection. We all have what it takes to access our “true selves” and psychotherapy is an invitation to do just that.

She is especially passionate about working with women and children who have experienced trauma (especially sexual assault, physical abuse, medical trauma and attachment trauma), post-traumatic stress, generalized anxiety, OCD, depression and perinatal mental health issues. As a cancer survivor herself, she also works with medical trauma and coping after treatment has ended when life returns to a new “normal”. Post-traumatic growth is something that can be experienced by everyone, no matter what the trauma.

She is certified in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, TF-CBT (trauma therapy for children, especially sexual abuse) and school social work (Utah and Idaho). She is trained in ART, DBT, CPT (treatment for PTSD), Substance Use Disorder assessment and perinatal mental health issues. Trauma treatment is informed primarily by Internal Family Systems, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and KAP. Rebecca has also participated in research (at Primary Children’s Medical Center) involving primary care medical doctors and factors influencing post-traumatic growth in caretakers of children who are surviving brain cancer.

KAP is an emerging field of psychotherapy, and as research continues, it has been solidified as an evidence-based medical treatment working within neuroplastic windows for lasting change. Rebecca was trained in KAP integration at Huntsman Mental Health Institute at the University of Utah and the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute and is excited about the possibilities it can bring to those suffering from mental health challenges.
