About Carrie Bridges, MA, LAMFT

I am trained in Art Therapy, in Marriage and Family Therapy, and in Play Therapy. I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in Art Therapy from Antioch University Seattle. I have a Play Therapy certificate from Antioch University Seattle. I also have a BFA in Fine Arts from Idaho State University. I receive supervision from Dr. Michael Whitehead (for Marriage and Family Therapy and Play Therapy) and Dr. Cynthia Wilson (for Art Therapy). I am currently licensed under supervision and am working towards full licensure.

I believe in strengthening and supporting family relationships to overcome challenges and thrive. Art is a visual form of communication when words are not enough. With art therapy, clients have new ways of expression and communication, as well as regulation. I am excited to work with children, adolescents, parents, and whole families. My therapeutic approach is informed by attachment theory, child-centered play therapy, research on the effects of art and play on the brain, and on the importance of building relationships. My goal is to build a secure relationship with each client in order to provide a safe space to learn, grow, process, and regulate.

My training in Art Therapy includes the Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC) and effects of art on the brain. My training in Play Therapy includes Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). I love to work with children and parents in experiential ways that allows the body to move and do what it needs to do.

I love to spend time with my family, two dogs, and church, make art, write stories, and travel.
