Workshop Overview

Effective, evidence informed, assessment is the cornerstone of effective play therapy. This 12-hour training provides clinicians with a variety of formal, informal, observational, and projective assessment techniques and procedures. An overview of Child Development, Child Temperament, and the Coercion Cycle will be presented and discussed to help participants understand the integral nature these dynamics have on treating children with play therapy.

Participants will experience and role play how to begin assessing children’s regulatory capabilities. Additionally, empirically validated, and public domain measures will be prepared and presented for use in initial and ongoing assessment of a variety of conditions.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a greater grasp on using empirical measures, formal and informal interview processes, & observational and projective assessment procedures.
