About Mikayla Connolly, MSW, LCSW
Mikayla graduated in 2020 with her master’s in Social Work from Boise State University. Mikayla has an expansive experience with working in a wide range of fields that assist with emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental health, including working with developmental disabilities, chronic mental health conditions, and crisis intervention in a hospital setting. She has a history of working within the school system and with hospice. With this valuable experience, she has history of providing grief therapy and assisting with comfort with death and dying. She also has a history of working with abuse (both victim and victimizer), family preservation plans, and addiction.
Mikayla has a philosophy that it is the clinician’s job to meet the needs of the client, and not the other way around. In practice, Mikayla has a passion for learning how to assist people with expansive life experiences, and learning therapy tools to assist them. However, Mikayla has learned, from working in many different fields within social work, that her calling is in working with the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ community. Her personal favorite therapy to provide is trauma processing.
A little about Mikayla personally is that she is neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ herself. She is in love with psychology, philosophy, and sociology, leading her into this field, and a desire to share this knowledge and assist others. Mikayla is happily married and has a dog and a cat, who she loves more than anything in the world. Mikayla used to be a music teacher and plays violin, cello, piano, and percussion. She plays video games and analyzes media (tv shows, movies, books, podcasts) in her free time. She has a passion for all things nature and art. Mikayla also works as an astrologist part time.
